Why does not my wireless headset x2 Turtle Beach let me speak to my friends on Xbox Live?

I just bought the Turtle Beach Xbox 360 Headset and it works with neutralizing the loud noise, but i cannot talk to my friends. Do I need to buy a connector or something?

Your helmet should be directed to the adapter thing. It happened to me before I knew I had to steer it toward her.
