What is the most effective way to connect my headset or USB phone for PC-PC phone calls?

Setting up my helmet (or a USB phone set another option) is probably easy for most of you!

Can anyone tell me the way the best or most effective to connect my headset (with microphone) to a new computer?

Otherwise I have a phone with a USB that I could install it using one of my USB ports to spare. There is an installation CD for this device.

Which method (or other method) should I use? What is the easiest way.
