Test Fax

bought a fax machine to send and receive documents easily to / from my customers. I need to know how to connect the fax with digital phone line. Can someone please suggest me about this .... Thank you

I sent and received many documents using my fax machine with digital phone service and never had a problem. The fax signal is just an analog signal sent over a VOIP line, they have nothing to do with eachother. Simply plug into the phone and fax numbers immediately.

Fax machines are considered obsolete today and unnecessarily costly. If you want to save money, you need to fax in a modern way.
You can send documents by e-mail if you need to send a document that is not on your computer, scanner with a scanner or all-in-one printer or take a picture with a digital camera) .

A fax machine works by:
- Scanning a document into a digital image
- Modulation of the image in its
- Connecting to another fax machine through a telephone network
- Sending data modulated as a machine readable

Because this process requires a connection to PSTN (Public-Switched Telephone Network), a fax must be connected to a telephone line. This connection is usually done by connecting a phone line dedicated to fax.

I have an HP Officejet 6310 - after much angst a lot, I discovered by pressing the menu button on the actual machine, I turned off the ECM. Then I went to the speed / baud and it dropped to 9600.
So I sent a fax to test service at 1-888-473-2963 HP testing and it worked! I received a fax back from them. I got Charter Internet, telephone and cable a few weeks ago and when someone tried to fax me, it would be Start, then give me a fax "failed" message. Hope this helps
