My employer does a background check employee pre-and was hired as an operator PBX Is this legal? I am a PBX Operator under my job description, and was recently moved under the HRD. and was told it was because he was not in the budget to enable them to hire someone to do "tasks". They now get pre-used basic prerequisites which I am aware of HR sensitive documents, namely: Applicant SS #, DL # 's credit reports, criminal records etc., but my title and job description have nothing to do with HR, or the history of my work. Now they force me to email correspondence with the hiring managers. Is this legal?
Yes, it's legal for your employer to change your job description and add / remove features as they see fit. If you are not represented by a collective agreement or if you have a contract that dictates your duties, your job description is what your employer that he did.
be happy u have a job so they can have u do
sounds like you are HRD .... Do you have a union?
