Mitel TrainingShoreTel Integraiton Legacy: ShoreTel as voicemail!

One of the most interesting aspects of the installation of the PBX system in general and in particular ShoreTel is the subject of Legacy PBX integration. There are a variety of reasons that a new facility ShoreTel might need to integrate with the old, established or "legacy" PBX phone system. You could be the installation of ShoreTel in the first position of a multi-site with the remaining sites coming on line as the finest equipment leases. PBXs typically use a tandem tie line to join systems together. The ShoreTel, in this case, would know the numbering plan of the PBX extensions and other information that users who lived in PBX. If a user dials ShoreTel and extension number or receives a call for an extension known to live through the link line, the call is sent to the PBX other. The direct link is usually defined as part of a trunk group that contains a list of "off-premises extensions." The ShoreTel can also provide translation and manipulation of numbers to welcome over lapping numbering plans.

Increasingly, as ShoreTel is growing in popularity and increasing acceptance of the market, it is claimed to be the voice mail system for existing PBXs. If you think about it, the existing PBX systems have traditionally been installed with separate voice mail systems. Regarding market share, large corporate customers often have Octel voicemail systems that are now coming ten years after the life! Perhaps the telephone system is not ready for replacement quite yet, but the virtual machine is dying under its own weight. The ShoreTel enables a very good solution! Install a ShoreTel voice mail system for existing PBXs. Then, as time permits, let it grow and strangle the central and substituting obvious.

We have been involved in the integration of Nortel, Avaya, NEC, Mitel and even a key to Toshiba as a ShoreTel PBX. We now see a growing demand for ShoreTel to do both functions! The ShoreTel not only integrates the new with the old PBX, legacy PBX to smooth customer migration and transition, but it simultaneously provides for VM users on the existing PBX. Now, how is that Kool ShoreTel? That VM is a powerful migration strategy and a win for the customer and the seller. Find someone, however, has demonstrated competence in the inheritance for the two integrations that ShoreTel ShoreTel PBX and that VM with a client list that can be referenced is an essential element of a successful solution and implementation work.
