Htc Wifi

Can I use the wifi on my HTC Sprint Hero overseas (United Kingdom) to stay connected? I know I will not be able to make and receive calls, but I have access to wifi then it would be nice if I could use the wireless feature HTC to get my email, Google chat, sports scores, notification via my phone.

The frequencies and protocols to run the same as in the U.S. as the UK so it should go. I have a HTC Touch Pro. I turned off the phone and use only Wi-Fi before and it works very well in the United States. It's really crazy the amount of free hotspots around me that I choose. I would not consider using the connection to play WoW, but to compare prices against other online works very well. Thus, by using it for E-Mail or, possibly, IM should be allowed, but forget it for Skype or something like that. Good luck!
