Who can think of a good supplier of hosted VoIP in the metro New York? My company is looking for a good supplier of hosted VoIP. We currently have 17 rows of pots with Verizon. We have received awards from Lightpath. We also have a couple of remote areas (total about 5 lines). Currently, between taxes, fees, line charges, and use, we are running about $ 65 per line. Looking for something @ a better price and features a little more current (follow me, etc.)

The key to your question is the "good word" which, by extension, I will include reliable, stable, and around the long term of the equation. There is a plethora of people providing hosted Voice / VoIP these days. Just yesterday, I saw a Google ad shilling a "VoIP" platform for $ 5,000.00. Needless to say the barriers to entry are low. However, barriers to success are many. In other words, there were many providers of VoIP business class who have come and gone. You must be careful about this. If I had to recommend a supplier in this field geo, I suggest you look NBS (www.nbsvoice.com). The company is in business for 25 years as a telecommunications provider. The service starts at $ 16.99 per seat + use (2.5 cents per minute, but the packages and plans are available at fixed rate). They are a full service - they can do all the wiring you need to do, you cofiguration phones, and install them too. And they do more than just VoIP - if you need high speed internet in the (future T-1, E subway, etc.) - they can help you too. An excellent product, good price, flexibililty - and their record indicates they will be around 5 years.

I wonder if you could accomplish what you are trying to do with Broadvoice. I like their service. They have the best shots I've seen, and their international rates are great too. It would not hurt to contact them.
