Android Phone AppsEVO 4G Android Phone - Wow! With a few bugs

HTC EVO 4 G.jpg

Android Phone EVO 4G Save: $ 300.00 (60%) A: www.amazon.com/HTC-EVO-4G

To give you the perspective that I come, I am not a dedicated geek. I upgraded to EVO from a Treo Centro (Palm OS sorry!). Although I know what a Snapdragon processor, my opinion will not be at this level of expertise. I would rate my ability to adapt to new technologies as fair to poor.

Here goes: The phone itself is stylish looking. When off, it reminds me of the black stone monolith in 2001 A Space Odyssey. When activated, the screen is bright, and very specific details (again, I am from the perspective of my Centro). Rigor and diffusion function (contract or spread the image on the screen) works very well and consistently. The "blow" function allows you to scroll applications, it is wonderful, do not know how I did without before. The screen is very sensitive to touch, which requires a little practice for someone who is not one of my manual dexterity assets. Although the phone is large (4.2-inch screen), it is very thin, not heavy, and I do not bulky at all. He is comfortable in the hand.

The camera: First, it has two: one heavy (8 megapixels) facing the rear, a megapixel one on the side of the keyboard. In an area of 4G (I am not, yet), which allows video calls, I'm told. The camera has autofocus and a bright flash amazing. The picture quality seems good to very good.

Sound: I am a little hard of hearing, no problem at all with this phone. The sound quality is the best I've ever had on a cell phone. EVO has very few buttons, but it has a very easy to use and the volume buttons on the top left side of the phone works great.

Keyboard. Well, hmmm. My Centro had one manual, and if there is something that I really miss the EVO is actual buttons. Although the keyboard is BIG when the phone is switched to landscape mode, many features of the phone (including contacts capture!) Do not allow the Qwerty keyboard for portrait. The phone has three keyboards to choose if you're a whiz on the keyboard mobile phone standard that children are miraculously good at sending SMS, you can choose what format. I'm getting better, but still quite a few errors in typing.

Speed: in a word: fast. Very little lag between functions, even if more than one function is chugging along.

Voice recognition: Google search by voice (for a novice like me) nothing less than a miracle. Say "quilt shops, and the phone takes into account your GPS position in a few seconds a list of quilt shops (or Starbucks, or trails mountain bike) is available. SO cool! The directory search contacts from the phone by voice is a little more hesitant, some might Perfect.

Apps: Holy Cow! Again, I am a novice, but the GPS is very precise, in association with entertainment applications such as Yelp! and Flixter, is astounding. Touch Flixter, very intelligent and this phone instantly (no entry required) displays all theaters, movie times, trailers, Rotten Tomato ratings of all restaurants in the area of your chosen film, AND turn by turn directions to the theater Thanks to Google Maps. Basically, get off a plane anywh.
